about

Normaling is a Baltimore-based producer/DJ duo comprised of .rar Kelly and DJ Lemz.

While their productions are anything but normal, these two Baltimore scene staples decided to make music together under some pretty average circumstances: pregaming before a New Year's Eve party two years ago. What may have began as something of a joke project has since turned into something much brainier. Normaling's odd-couple chemistry mixes .rar
Kelly's dominant left-brain with Lemz' dominant right-brain into this 6-track EP that just might blow your mind.

Urban Anatomy opens the EP with a vocal hook that will make you want to laugh and rage all at once. With its otherworldly synth line & tribal drums somewhere, Urban Anatomy roars with tongue-in-cheek fury. Following its monstrous opener, Corpus Collosum goes into the standout single from the duo's debut EP. Low Drop showcases the stylings of the old and new school of Baltimore Club. The legendary Rye Rye and the legend-in-making, TT the Artist, swap rapid fire verses. Crude, sexy, cunty and fabulous, the first ladies of Bmore Club shine on the stage set by Normaling's expert beat construction that references club music in all of its many mutations. From there, the EP continues the journey with, Asssmacker, a tune that builds from eerie, off-key highs to a pummeling bass and broken vocal hits. The perfect tune to shock & awe at peak set time.

Keeping it in the family, Corpus Callosum, also features a guest appearance from West Baltimore rapper, DDm. On Shade, DDm shows the queens of hip hop how true royalty raps atop another Normaling club banger with a built in history lesson of where Baltimore Club began and where it's headed. Normaling takes that thread of the diaspora of club cultures all the way through the EP with influences from ballroom & voguing styles in YYYOOO and hints of French techno and electro in Ignobiles.

Corpus Callosum feels more like a short LP: both a focused collection of complete thoughts and a set of standalone tracks that will pull every wallflower onto the dancefloor.
